Art Program

Trail Wind’s Art Program is one-of-a-kind! We are a community of volunteers that bring art education into the classroom 1-2 times a month. There are several ways to be involved, so read on to see where you might fit in! We need:
Volunteer Teachers – prepare and teach lessons for your child’s classroom on a regular basis (at least once a month). Lessons, supplies, training and support provided. (No, you do not have to be an artist. Or a teacher, for that matter. This is a great way to bring the joy of art into your child’s classroom. And we are here to provide the resources and support you need!) Ideally, we will have at least two volunteer teachers per classroom.
• Teaching Assistants-help the volunteer teachers with cleanup, setup, gathering supplies. Attend art lessons in a supporting role (mainly by helping kids one-on-one). At least two teaching assistants per class would be great!
Art Night Helpers – Assist volunteer teachers in preparing artwork for display on Art Night (occurs in mid-April). Help set up for the event (this is just one day a year, but it takes all day to set up in some cases).
Classroom Lead (can also be an additional responsibility for one of the above volunteers) – coordinate with
other classroom art volunteers and the classroom teacher to provide art lessons and prepare for Art Night. Includes setting up a time that works for the teacher, ensuring adequate coverage (a teacher and several assistants), and coordinating art night setup.

The art program is one of Trail Wind’s most cherished traditions. If you are able to help, please sign up and indicate which role(s) you’d be most interested in. The Art Program Coordinators will be in touch. Thank you!!!
